BROWN BAG CHICKENFor Marinade: Place chicken drumsticks and breasts into a 9x13 pan. In a bowl, mix together 1 quart of buttermilk, 2 tablespoons of hot sauce, 1 tablespoon minced garlic and salt & pepper to taste. Pour over chicken, cover with plastic wrap and put in refrigerator overnight (or at least for 8 hours) When Ready To Cook: Take a heavy brown paper bag and put in 2 cups all purpose flour, 2 teaspoons salt, ½ teaspoon pepper, ½ teapsoon curry powder, 2 teaspoons paprika, 1 teaspoon sage and ½ teaspoon thyme. Hold top closed and shake until blended. Add a few pieces of chicken at a time and shake to coat. Either deep fry chicken in hot oil a few pieces at a time or place chicken in a 9x13 pan that has 1/3 cup of melted butter in the bottom and bake at 450 for 15 minutes on each side. (total baking time is 30 minutes) |
