Things You Can Make With Paper!!!


BROWN BAG CHICKEN

For Marinade:
Place chicken drumsticks and breasts into a 9x13 pan. In a bowl, mix together 1 quart of buttermilk, 2 tablespoons of hot sauce, 1 tablespoon minced garlic and salt & pepper to taste. Pour over chicken, cover with plastic wrap and put in refrigerator overnight (or at least for 8 hours)

When Ready To Cook:
Take a heavy brown paper bag and put in 2 cups all purpose flour, 2 teaspoons salt, ½ teaspoon pepper, ½ teapsoon curry powder, 2 teaspoons paprika, 1 teaspoon sage and ½ teaspoon thyme. Hold top closed and shake until blended. Add a few pieces of chicken at a time and shake to coat.

Either deep fry chicken in hot oil a few pieces at a time or place chicken in a 9x13 pan that has 1/3 cup of melted butter in the bottom and bake at 450 for 15 minutes on each side. (total baking time is 30 minutes)



CARMEL CORN IN A PAPER BAG

  1. Make 16 cups of your favorite popcorn by any method you like and put it in a brown paper grocery bag.
  2. Add 2 cups (or more if you like) of Planters Peanuts to the popcorn. Fold the bag closed, shake it a couple of times and set it aside.


  3. Place the following in a 2 quarty microwaveable dish:
    • 1 cup light brown sugar
    • 1 stick margarine
    • ¼ cup light karo syrup
    • ½ teaspoon salt


  4. Mix together and microwave on high until it comes to a boil, then let boil for 2 minutes.

  5. Remove from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon of baking soda.

  6. Pour mixture over popcorn and nuts in the grocer bag, fold closed and shake well.

  7. Return to microwave and cook on high for 1 ½ minutes. Remove, shake bag again and return to microwave for another 1 ½ minutes. Pour onto cookie sheet to cool and enjoy!!!
