Hope this finds everyone healthy,happy and enjoying autumn!

The North Carolina State University Pulp & Paper Foundation will hold their luncheon on Friday,
October 17, 2003 at the Sheraton in Durham, NC. So far, George & Antoinette Jucha of Northstar Pulp & Paper and Marita Daniels of Weyerhaeuser Recycling will be at the event to meet our newest recipient.

The Syracuse Pulp & Paper Foundation will have their annual Reception and Banquet on Thursday, October 23, 2003. Linda Leone of Solvay Paperboard will be our representative and Nancy Grant may join her in welcoming our newest SUNY recipient.

On the job change front, Nancy Parsons has left Syracuse University after many years and taken a position at Virginia Tech. A new permanent director has not yet been named.

Antoinette will be speaking at the PSI Fall Conference in San Diego on October 23, 2003. If any members are attending the conference, please let us know so we can get together! We urge as many of you as possible to attend this conference and support our professional associations. YOUR INPUT IS NEEDED!!!

PLEASE REMEMBER OUR SCHOLARSHIP FUND DRIVE

We know the economy has been tough, but we ask you once again to please send in your TAX DEDUCTIBLE donations to our Scholarship Fund drive.  The $50 suggested donation is just that…a suggestion.  If you can’t spare that, your donation IN ANY AMOUNT… is most welcome.  We urge all committee chairs to set an example for our general membership by donating as soon as possible.  No matter how tough things get, we must not forget our commitment to creating a well-educated workforce for the future of our industry.  TOGETHER, DEAR FRIENDS, WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
