The Board of Directors thanks you heartily for your support in 2003 and wishes you all a healthy, happy and prosperous year.   We look forward to a year of continued progress, strength and growth in our group and in meeting our educational goals.!  Together we can make a difference!

 

***Membership Renewals***

If you haven’t already done it, please send in your membership renewal to Diane Lord, our Treasurer, as soon as possible. Because of our Foundation status, we need to have our membership renewed quickly, so, your co-operation is appreciated.   Only you can help keep our group going strong!

 

***It’s not too late to register for our Scotch Tasting Event***

This is going to be great!   Sunday, January 25th, we will present our First Canadian Scholarship in Montreal as we taste different scotches (or sip wine if you prefer), nibble cheeses and become informed as we listen to:

 Diane Thifault will inform us about Kruger

Christine Lemieux of Cascades will guide us regarding customs paperwork

Seth Goodman of Northstar Recycling Group will speak to you about Northstar

Susan Harrison of Huronia Transportation will let you know all about the services they offer.

***Upcoming Events***

January 25, 2004 -  Montreal, Canada – Marriott Chateau Champlain Hotel is the site of our Scotch Tasting Event…  See the above announcement.

 

February 15, 2004 - We will hold a fun BBQ and Beer Bash at the Beach on Sunday at the Hilton Hotel during the Southeast Recycling Conference.  It will be free and we will be raffling golf equipment, a P. Buckley Moss Print and having lots of fun.  Email Antoinette for details antgeo@comcast.net

 

March 22, 2004 - New York…. Simon H. Davies, President – Recycled Fiber for GP/Harmon will be our featured speaker and we will be installing our new officers – this will be a great event!

 

***Sad News***

Our deepest sympathies are extended to Caroline Bell Grossman, Vice President, on the death of her dear

Grandfather Edward Craighill Cousins.  The family will receive friends for a viewing on Friday, January 9, 2004 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Tharp Funeral Home Chapel, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchrurg, VA.

A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 p.m.  A second Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2004 at  Westminster-Canterbury at 10:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Lynchburg Kiwanis Educational and Benevolent Fund, P. O. Box 604, Lynchburg, VA 24505-0604

Barbara Hudson (Greif, Rivervill Mill)  will be representing the NAPW at the visitation and we thank her for the details regarding the services being held.  We hold Caroline and her family close in our hearts.
