*** OUR NEW YORK LUNCHEON WAS GREAT ***

We had one of our best turnouts in years at the Annual New York luncheon held this year at the Marriott East Side Hotel!  There was a feeling of excitement and electricity in the air as raffle tickets were sold, wine and champagne were sipped and we all celebrated the progress of our organization.

Our keynote speaker, Mr. Simon Davies, President of Recycled Fibers for GP/Harmon gave an interesting, encouraging, pragmatic speech and had great words of praise for our organization.  He is, and will continue to be, a sensible, wise leader for GP/Harmon and our industry in the years to come.  We thank you so much for your participation Mr. Davies!

We raised $868 for the Charitable Foundation General Fund with our raffles and the prizes were won as follows:

Helena Urban of City Shredding won the P. Buckley Moss Print donated by the P. Buckley Moss Foundation with framing donated by George & Antoinette Jucha.

Diane Thifault of Kruger, Inc won the gorgeous Longaberger cake basket donated by Jennifer Smith.

Jeff Smith of America Chung Nam won the stunning, framed lab print donated by Diane Lord.

Carrie Cussens of America Chung Nam won the 4 Boston Red Sox Tickets donated by Seth Goodman of Northstar Recycling Group.

Our warmest thanks go to those who donated the prizes and those who supported us by buying the tickets!

*****SPECIAL THANKS...

to our wonderful member, Mr. Joey welsh of Welsh Recycling for donating the wine we all enjoyed before and during lunch ...and... heartfelt thanks go to Mr. Peter Wang of America Chung Nam for

donating the champagne to welcome our incoming Board!

A MESSAGE FROM ANTOINETTE

These past two years seem to have ‘flown by’.  I can’t get over that this will be my last newsletter to you.

It has been a privilege and an honor to serve this organization and to have been part of the founding of the NAPW Charitable Foundation.  In addition, we have a great website, our newsletters go by email and at the end of December, 2003 we had nearly doubled our membership!  We’ve expanded our scholarships with the addition of a Canadian university to our scholarship schools and have made progress with our high school student awareness program through which we inform youngsters and their teachers about the paper recovery industry.

Much has been done and it could never have been accomplished without a co-operative board of directors and the encouragement and support each of you gave me so freely.

There is much work still to do and the incoming Board of Directors are just the people to do it.  You have selected a DYNAMIC team and I ask you to give them all the time and effort you can in order to keep this marvelous organization moving ahead.

I thank you all, most humbly, for the opportunity and friendship you have extended to  me and will hold each of you always close in my heart!

THANKS FOR THE GREAT MEMORIES

THESE PAST 2 YEARS!!!!

IN PARTING, I LEAVE YOU WITH MY FAVORITE THOUGHT....

TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!
